Worship and Music

“Worship and music at Living Spirit are more about heart and spirit and less about ceremony,”  Sandy Waterman, co-director of music
Opportunities for spiritual growth
Living Spirit UMC offers ministries through regular Sunday morning worship, age-level groups on Sunday mornings at 9:15 a.m. (September-May) and prayer ministry.  Pastor Donna is offering a 4-week class on the Parables of Jesus, which meets Mondays at 7 p.m. from Sept. 13 through Oct. 4.  Each class is complete; attend one or all of them.  Bring yourself and a Bible.

Outreach
Living Spirit UMC collects food and cash donations to support the Sabathani, Simpson and Joyce Foodshelves.  The Wednesday Night Suppers are community meals served at 4501 Bloomington Ave. S. from 5:45 to 6:30 p.m. each Wednesday.  There is no charge for this community meal; everyone welcome!  (See calendar page for Wednesday menus.)

Opportunities for Social Justice
The Social Justice team is also working to achieve better understanding between races, beginning with ourselves.  The team has sponsored workshops to explore racial awareness and how perceptions of race affect our relationships.

We are interested in helping improve access to health care for all Americans, by learning more and joining with efforts of ISAIAH.
